How to Use the Advance Tax Calculator FY 2025-26

  1. Enter your estimated Annual Gross Income before deductions in the input field.

Mathematical Formula & Calculations

Advance Tax Installment Rules:

  • On or Before 15th June: Pay cumulative 15% of net estimated tax.
  • On or Before 15th September: Pay cumulative 45% of net estimated tax (net 30% more).
  • On or Before 15th December: Pay cumulative 75% of net estimated tax (net 30% more).
  • On or Before 15th March: Pay cumulative 100% of net estimated tax (net 25% more).

Frequently Asked Questions

Any taxpayer (salaried, self-employed, businessman) whose estimated net tax liability (after subtracting TDS credits) for the financial year exceeds ₹10,000 is mandatorily required to pay tax in advance through quarterly installments. Senior citizens (aged 60 years or above) who do not run a business or profession are exempt from paying advance tax.
Advance tax must be paid in four installments: 15% on or before June 15th; 45% on or before September 15th; 75% on or before December 15th; and 100% on or before March 15th of the financial year.
If you fail to pay advance tax or pay less than 90% of your assessed tax, interest is levied at 1% per month on the unpaid amount under Section 234B. Additionally, deferment in quarterly installments attracts interest at 1% per month for 3 months under Section 234C.
Any tax paid on or before March 31st of the financial year is treated as advance tax. However, missing the March 15th deadline attracts 1% interest penalty under Section 234C for the final installment delay.
